Garry’s Story

Born and raised in the Victorian town of Shepparton, Garry Jacobson has carved his way through the Australian motorsport scene with success in Karting, Aussie Racing Cars, Formula Ford, Sprintcars, Dunlop Super2 and more recently Garry made the move into Australia’s premier motor racing category – The Virgin Australia Supercars.

Garry’s exceptional driving talent was identified early on in his career when he was selected as the Confederation of Australian Motorsport (CAMS) Aussie Young Gun driver to compete in the ARC series at the age of 16. This program was also supported by the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) where Garry worked with some of the nation’s best physical trainers, sports physiologists, recovery specialists and media trainers, providing a brilliant foundation for a successful career.

In 2016 Garry secured the Dunlop Super2 Championship with Prodrive Racing Australia, accumulating a host of pole positions and track lap records on his way to claiming the title.

With his goals now firmly set on a lengthy and successful career in Supercars, Garry has spent his rookie year (2019) impressing his peers both on and off the track. With a level head and an ability to quickly process key learnings, Garry has shown a level of professionalism and commitment that far exceeds his competition. Garry’s understanding of the motorsport landscape from a young age has also led to his partnership with GP Human Performance, a program designed to keep athletes in peak mental and physical condition leading into, during and post-race seasons.
